So this kind of stuff has been done before? Do not remember.

Seems this is a little over the top and might not be looked at as a good thing. People gripe that their tv shows are interrupted when the SOTU address is on. Looks kinda snobby and elitist. Just saying.

I remember them. Humphrey, Nixon, etc., a half hour that seemed like an eternity. Think about it. Obama trying to hold your interest for 30 minutes. I doubt anyone’s mind was changed by them.

I was only 7 in 1988 so I’m not sure if it was real or just the conceit of the SNL sketch, but you’re absolutely right it’s pretty weird. Especially since the SNL Primetime election stuff that starts in a few minutes is already 30 minutes of advertising for the Obama campaign.
