You are lucky not to have that many who are obvious and obnoxious there!
I agree devolve. Where I live it is still pretty ‘nice’. If I lived in Austin and strolled down 6th street it would be a whole different world.
.
Early Texans would be apalled about Austin I imagine.....
Everybody loves Austin but it is totally liberal now I ‘think’. The usual array of bad characters downtown.
I loved it more when I was going to college there.
.
I’ve heard the Than-Fran bunch has invaded Asheville NC for the property values, mountains, semi-urban folksy stuff
Determined to spread AIDS and all those cute things.....
Surprising as they don’t seem the type to go for country living.
.
Asheville is in a valley there and is a good sized city
Wealthy pansys have moved there and bought or set up shops and pretty much painted the culture hotpinky
[set up shops and pretty much painted the culture hotpinky]
OK, different than what I envisioned. Artsy Craftsy huh?
I’m heading off to bed, later than I thought.
.
Asheville had some nice shops in Biltmore Village (just across from the entrance to the huge Biltmore Castle vinyards, dairy pastures, Deer Park, and Biltmore Mansion - a good customer by the way....) and downtown Asheville, and a big mall out Tunnel Road
It’s a shame is has been infected by the left coast and Fire Island and P-Town weirdos
You can imagine how it has affected the area’s youth and what type of people now move there or visit
Smart people go to other mountain areas
If you think the Bailout Bill is going to hit each American hard at $700 billion bucks (Hey! Only 300 million Americans! Why not just give a million dollars to each American and save the rest!) - each terminal volunteer AIDS spreader costs the US taxpayers over $750,000 before they fade into the mud.
.
Plenty of good native North Carolina mountain folks who turn out authentic wood, woven, clay, and other crafts without importing the oddballs who bring in junk imported from the ChiComs to sell

I guess you might like it. It’s a parody of the good one.
My very liberal sister lives in Asheville. It has become a scaled down east coast version of San Francisco. My mother and step-father lived in the city for many years, but relocated out to one of the suburbs a few years back. They are solid conservatives and spend little time in the city.
One thing I remember about visiting them back in the mid to late 80’s was that there were quite a few Middle Eastern people who had been sponsored by many of the Asheville residents to come to the U.S. and work in the hospitality industry. Many of them were at Grove Park Inn.
My sister and I rarely speak these days, but I did have a very ‘spirited’ discussion with her last night about her views not only on Obama, but on what she considered to be my short comings. She is the only one in our large family who supports Obama and I was the last person in the family who would talk with her. She has become one of those ‘in your face’ supporters and has caused a great deal of grief for our mother for ‘raising her children to be evil capitalists” along with a few other things. After last night...well...I’ll have to see how things go and how she reacts to the outcome of this election.
.
you’ve got all that sublimpandall stuff going on there!
