It would have been a great line for the moment, but it would have been entirely lost on most of the conservatives in his base, at the very moment he started talking about his economic plan, the “green jobs” and “conserving this and that” and thinking Meg Whitman (who laid off half of eBay’s workforce before leaving the company) would be a great choice for Treasury Secretary.

Obama and McCain are now tied 44-44% among men. This has boggled my mind, how any man of any stature could support that pantie waist noddled spined liberal.

The GOP candidate usually has a huge lead among men.

I believe because Obama's numbers are so poor with women, these polls with men are being skewered.

Maybe by the age of the men, young men (who likely not vote) being overrepresented in the polls.

National polls mean absolutely nothing. McCain may be gaining in Texas for all we know. The only polls which matter are battleground state polls. And, for now, those are still very bad

Actually, I think the only thing helping Obama is the national polls.

I think he is in big trouble in those battleground states, espically PA, where, if you recall, he lost to Hillary by 10pts.

And at that time, he was the presumptive nominee of their Party.

So, PA rural voters were sending a message to their own Party, 'we don't want this guy'.

Why bother with polls if one candidate is consistently showing 6-10% ahead? The pollsters stay in business by ‘predicting’ close races.

In 2006 the election was about corruption and even with that, the GOP held their losses to the normal 6 year cycle.

On the national level, Evangelicals are excited about Palin(one of their own) and having a crack at the Supreme Court-there may be as many as 3 openings.

Obama is far too radical to be elected President and even Hillary knew that and tried to position herself as a centrist candidate.
