While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.
Obama: I don’t really know what I don’t know, but I DO know that America is really a lousy place to live, where people are hungry and can’t afford doctors and college.
I hate to waste bandwidth on such an important thread, but a BIG high-five to Free Republic for keeping the thread running smooth as a gravy sandwich, and as effective and efficient as our troops.
Would you tell her to share the duct tape with me. As Beck would say, "Listening to Obama makes my head explode."
This audience is totally non-responsive to both of them. If they would react just a little bit, this would be a better debate.
Then again, maybe I’m getting cause and effect mixed up.
fundamental bipartisan my friend
I am so sick of hearing about the single mother.
My dad deserted us, left us to starve and I have never beat this drum like this dud who had a nice life with his grandparents
McCain has a great final answer. I don’t know what you don’t know — what’s going to happen tomorrow.
Ending on a love of country. Wooha!!!!
McCain answers the final question powerfully. Clearly the superior choice.
Please God, let the American people see thru this BS artist and his con and let them see the man who has given his life to this country, not some arrogant punk.
McCain just lost the election tonight... Not cause he made huge mistakes... but, by NOT exposing this fraud... I KNEW this loser didn’t have what it takes to fight back. He’s done. I feel badly for Palin.... I despise McCain, just like I despise Bush.... for NOT fighting back. DAMN!!!
McCain: “What I don’t know is what all of us don’t know: What (paraphrasing) is coming up. What will the unexpected be... could be facing challenges from countries whose names we don’t know. I know what it’s like in dark times. I know what it’s like to rely on others for courage and support. I know what it’s like to have comrades, neighbors reach out. ... I believe in this nation... we need a steady hand at the tiller.”
GOod he is talking about being a fighter.
good asking for our vote.
‘Another’ opportunity?
Not here, not in this debate forum. Totally inappropriate IMO.
Damn! McCain is hitting this last question out of the park.
I think he said scrimping.
Obama always tries to answer question going off into left field first before running to first base.
