PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08
Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3
While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

Really wish I knew how Mac is being viewed by the undecided people. We’re too close to the forest to see the trees. Separate the emotion from the facts and I think people will come away from this with a general feeling of “talking” vs. “doing” (i.e. Mac’s lifetime experience...

The resurgence of Russia . . .um uh um . . . I agree with Senator McCain.
And that's pretty much a direct quote.

Good on the Freddie/Fannie scandal, taxes, the war, moderate on everything else.
More importantly, Obama is acting like a spoiled brat!
McCain is winning, but not enough to overcome the leftist media bias.

CRAP ... Obama wants to take Eastern Europe on a date.
We need to give them moral support and some financial support.

There is no zinger, Obama is just a generic politician.
He is the “generic democrat”
This could easily be LBJ or Jimmy Carter.
Speaking of Russia, Obama IS just like Jimmy Carter.
The humanitarian question is pure Jimmy Carter.

"McCain is on very comfortable, solid ground now. The *telegraph your punches* is the best line of the night. Obama lost BIG on that, BIG TIME. In front of the WHOLE COUNTRY." Yes, AIT. And McCain gave his "incredulous" tone in b-slapping Obama again on NEVER to this day admitting the success of the Surge.

Obama says it that way ‘cause he wants to sound especially intelligent and in tune with his fellow Arabs/Muslims...also ‘cause he’s the world’s biggest snob.

I think McCain will get a modest bounce from this debate.
Wow..can I have some of that happy juice you apparently are imbibing in?
I hope to GOD that you are right - but I think we just lost the election tonight.
Mac was HORRIBLE. Off. Wheezy. Weak. Obambi was strong, confident and did his typical happy talk that goes over with 99.99999% of the masses who pick Presidents like we pick the American idol.
Bookmark my post and come back in 5 days - Obambi will likely widen the lead, as much as it chagrins/depresses me to say it.

Looks like Brokaw wont give McCain an opening to bring up Ayers, Wright, etc. (not that he would, anyway).
Not surprising. McCain should hit on these topics in the stump speeches and in TV ads.

i thought he said a soft stick ROFL.
I think mccain is doing great, better than expected and obama is leaving behind a lot of fodder for after the debate! no, he aint dishing out the red meat, but that aint his job. its palins (and she nails it)mccain needs the hillary voters, the ones that are not pumas, and indys.
Yah, obama is smooth, but come across as smug, no one likes a smug ahole!

McCain is so kicking ass late in the debate. He is showing matery of the issues. Obama stammers and blathers and is on the defensive.
To: All
Obama: "I agree with Senator McCain". Is he going to say that more times than Biden said he agreed with Governor Palin?
I think that's their key talking point: We'll go along with the other guys, but you get the first black president too if you vote for us.
