I agree with the oversampling claim, but I think the crux of the matter isn’t political correctness but the unions.

The unions are pushing hard for Obama and have layed down the law to their members that they have to vote for him. They have also contributed tons of money. If you are working in a union shop or are part of a union, your job depends on the union more than the employer.

The problem for Obama is that every time a pollster calls a union home, they will hear “Obama has my vote”. This isnt because the person polled will vote Obama, but the fact that the rank and file can not know 100% that the poll is truly a poll and not a loyalty test.

If the polls say that the election is within 4%, McCain will win in a landslide.

That’s very optimistic thinking. I think Obama’s leads may be slightly overstated, but he’s clearly ahead right now.
