Lot of “money” vanished when the price of crude collapsed.

Hey, could be a good time to round up and execute the “peak oil” ers. /sarc

The Euro has been falling, which is in part because OPEC has been pricing crude in Euros for years now.

Russia’s Putin intends to build a hegemonic pyramid in Europe using Russian natural gas and crude oil.

The trade advantage of a US dollar moving up in value will of course benefit European industry.

>What happens at the grocery store if credit cards are not accepted “during the emergency?” Ditto ATMs.<

Then people will have to learn how to live within their budgets, won’t they?

...some high yield vegetable seeds...

Make sure they are open-pollinated NOT hybrid. Every year I buy 5 or 10 dollars worth of OP seeds just in case. It looks like the "in case" is here.

IMO, if there was to be a financial crisis, you wouldn’t want $100 bills because the seller would be foolish to admit that he could make change. If you wanted that tank of gas then you would pay him the $100 and go on your way. I have everything from $5’s to $100s stashed away. Most of it is in $10’s and $20’s that are a couple of years old.

Exactly what we were discussing, and why we're converting to smaller denominations.

“Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves..I intend to rout you out and by the Eternal God I will rout you out. If the people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system, there would be a ************* revolution before morning.*************”
—Andrew Jackson

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.
—Henry Ford

Worth Repeating

WE THE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND

A REVOLUTION BEFORE MORNING is in progress.

Congress didn’t listen to 80 percent of its people last week, maybe they will listen THIS week. When America starts this run on Banks and Stocks, it will be electronically and will hit a million times faster than the Depression.

But they will still need to line up at the Banks to get their money.

This will teach a lesson to many, hopefully those in Congress will follow Pence and his allies. Pence needs to lead the way NOW.

There must be a statement that there will be NO MORE monetary bailouts
OR
there will be MORE CONTINUED RUNS.

Yeah, 5,000 years of recorded human history don’t mean squat. Anything not invented after 1900 or so just don’t mean nothing.

Classic and sacred literature have value and meaning. You can't use gold in the stores, etc. It is expensive to store and exchange for money you can actually use to buy what you need or want. I can see having shares in gold mining companies, but you have to be careful not to be overly concentrated in them.
