Just when you think mainstream media people can't stoop much lower in their final stages of Palin Derangement Syndrome, they plunge to new depths. Suzy Shuster works as a sideline reporter for ABC Sports. She also blogs at the Huffington Post. Her most recent contribution is,"Say It Ain't So: Trig Palin's Post-Debate Photo Op." She describes what irritated her most at last night's vice presidential debate:
It actually came after the debate, when for seemingly the millionth time, Sarah Palin trotted out her piece de resistance, her favorite prop of this campaign season: her five and a half month old son Trig.
Why is this child up so late every time there is a camera op? Why isn't this baby sleeping in a crib or bassinet somewhere with a sleep sheep or some other sound apparatus lulling him into night-night? Is it just me or does it seem like she carts this poor child around like a living breathing example of how wonderful a mom she is? After all, she's more than adopted the "I'm just a mom, just like you moms out there, America" attitude.
But the truth is, if she was just like all you other Moms out there, America, then she'd know the best thing she can do for this infant is to make sure he is tucked safely in his bed and out cold at eleven pm. And please don't say well, maybe she doesn't have anyone to watch him. Believe that, and I've got a Bridge to Nowhere that I want to sell you.
Shuster isn't the first to challenge Palin's parenting skills and motivation. Last month the publisher of Harper's Magazine made the same accusation that the baby is used as a political prop.
Naturally, Shuster's post was received by HuffPo readers with a rash of comments critical of Palin, references to "white trash," and other statements that you'd expect from open-minded liberals.
I can't claim particular expertise on the subject of when a baby should sleep. In my experience as a father and grandfather, though, it seems to me babies keep their own schedule to a great extent. I'd be most reluctant to judge other parents harshly because their baby isn't asleep at 8:00 PM or whatever hour has been designated as the requirement.
Moreover, there's little doubt that some of the liberals so critical of the Palin baby's schedule would have preferred that a special needs child be aborted in the first place. Their open-mindedness can only be extended so far.
In last night's debate, Joe Biden made a point about not questioning an opponent's motives. Shuster and other mainstream media figures have no problem doing exactly that much of the time.
There’s a special place for people who would do such a thing, and it ain’t in Heaven.
(Kerry's daughter during the campaign)
Yes, Sarah is breastfeeding Trig and he needs to travel with her. After Nov, they won’t be traveling that much. He is a placid little fellow and the lights don’t bother him.
My husband and I were delegates to the RNC Convention The night SARAH! Gave her speech I was walking past a woman being interviewed. She stated that “that baby will be a drain on society for the rest of his life....then if she were any kind of mother, she would have seen to things that she would have gotten help for her daughter to get rid of it. (Pregnancy). I really couldn’t believe I was hearing her state two babies should be dead! Thought about waiting for the interview to be over then talk to the baby killer but decided the B#*@H was too far gone to reason with!
Stimulation and human touch are necessary for all children, but especially for a child with Down’s Syndrome. I have little personal experience with these children, but everyone I know who has, loves them, as they are warm, loving, sweet human beings. The young adults I have met with this condition are certainly that way.
I think a lot of women are just furious that here is a young woman, a standard bearer for her generation, who marches to a different drummer than the one they tried to inculcate. Sarah walks the walk of traditional womanhood. She has inborn, natural star quality. It cannot be bought, just as her beauty cannot be manufactured in the OR. And her obviously happy and healthy family is a testimony to the love and faith of Sarah and Todd. This should not need explaination. It does, however, offend the elitists.
Too bad.
Maybe this could also have something to do with the fact that little Trig was accustomed to his schedule back in Alaska.
Suzy should be spending her time keeping tabs on her hubby instead of concerning herself with the Palin’s child rearing practices.
Chris Matthews said the same exact thing.
Suzy seems to have a problem with other people running their lives without any help from her. She should really mind her own business.
How can anyone call this dumb*ss a ‘reporter’ when she posts on a left-wing website and says things like this?
Suzy Shuster is the wife of NFL Network anchorman Rich Eisen

I Got Into a Fight With a Giant Douche Bag This Morning

Suzy Shuster
I got into a fight this morning.
I walked past a guy sitting in his Bentley, talking on the cell phone while his engine idling.
And that pissed me off.
Few things piss me off like a running engine for no reason.
The United Nations Council has stated that we have a finite amount of time to bring about changes aiming at combating green house gases and emissions such as those which stream out of exhaust pipes in cars that are running for no reason.
My son once fell asleep sitting in a stroller in the rain, somewhat protected by a large tree under which we had taken refuge. We’d been at an outdoor event all day, he was tired, he was safe with his Mom, so off to sleep he went.
Baby Trig is by nature easy going, he’ll do just fine so long as his family is with him.
If I were in Gov. Palin’s place, I’d have my children with me too as much as possible. Imagine what they are learning about their country, about people, about so many things. What an experience!
To be honest, I don’t even know who half these people are. Streisand - can’t stand her “do what I say” attitude. And Olberman and Matthews - can’t deal with their personal opinions which they try to pass off as news and Suzy Shuster is just fluff added to football games and I don’t even pay attention to it - just wonder why?
Suzy for crying out loud is that all you got? The kid is up past his bedtime? If it was up to you he probably wouldn’t have been born. A side line reporter critisizing a Mother of five, business owner, Mayor and Governor of a state. Where do they get these people?
Suzy is obviously not a mother and doesn’t understand how much a mother can love her baby and want to hold it all the time.
I said earlier when I saw this article, though I couldn't post a reply at the time, if Suzy Shyster doesn't already have a child, I hope that her womb would be forever closed, and that she'd never have the opportunity to adopt.
As an aside, wouldn't it be interesting if some athlete did to her what one of the baseball players did to Jim Gray years ago?
Gray, who put the "snake" in "snarky", totally blindsided Pete Rose when he was being interviewed during the announcement in 1999 of the Major League Baseball All-Century Team. (This was prior to Game 3 of the World Series.)
When Chad Curtis hit a dramatic home run to win Game 3, Jim tried to interview the player on the field. Curtis said basically that because of what happened with Pete, they weren't going to say anything, and then he walked off the field...leaving Jim Gray speechless.
