20 minutes later, when he was talking about being a single parent, I thought he was about to cry. I’m not sure whether this was genuine or whether it was a pre-planned stunt. It did not come across well. We don’t want the Veep to be a cry-baby.

That can't be fake, because there's no way that looks good for him. I thought he was going lose it, too. He came close to doing so.

I thought the crying thing was so fake. He talks about his wife’s death every day on the campaign trail, but today it brings a tear to his eye (35 years after the fact)

Whoever’s been booking her with Gibson and Couric and power-cramming her head with talking points needs to be fired from McCain’s campaign - they’ve wasted her for the last month. The Palin we saw tonight can help win the election for McCain.

My wife was screaming that.

Once again, Sarah was Reagan in a skirt. She did things just like the old master, and even said

"There you go again..."

It was Biden’s back-up plan that he uses everywhere, it works with the leftty just like the false drunk drivin claim. He can tear up on command. Thsi is the 5th or 6th time I’ve seen him do it so I’m positive it is a planned things when he is losing. I don’t think it made hm look good tonight though.

BTW who did his hair? He looked like Bozo the clown!

It is honest. One thing I’ve always tried to do is face that reality. I may fight to the end for what I believe but I try never to delude myself on the terms of engagement or the lay of the race. Just because someone is factually wrong does not mean that they will be ineffective with people who are apolitical. Sarah Palin tapped into the common man tonight which is somethhing that Joe Biden just can’t do especially the common woman.
Women in that group of independents were excited. They wanted her to win though they expected her to lose.
Sarah makes me smile tonight more than the first time I met her through my computer in Scotland where I was during the convention. Sarah just changed this race all by herself.

60 minutes in, Biden lost his energy. I think he realized that he was losing. 20 minutes later, when he was talking about being a single parent, I thought he was about to cry. I’m not sure whether this was genuine or whether it was a pre-planned stunt. It did not come across well. We don’t want the Veep to be a cry-baby.

At the very end Biden started talking about the troops and had a line about how he and McCain both have sons about to go overseas.

No mention of Palin having a son who is a soldier and is ALREADY overseas.

Usually his groups are not that independent and end up after the debate still about 50-50.

But tonight, his group broke about 80% or so for Palin. And boy were they very forceful in their comments.

Said she connected with average Americans.

One guy said when she started talking about the financial meltdown, and we weren’t going to take it anymore, he felt like he did after 9-11 (patriotic).

Homerun folks. Don’t let anyone else tell you differently.

And this may be a game changer. McCain has got to let her loose with the media. They all want her on their shows. He can get hundreds of hours of free advertising.

She is ready to go. “free Sarah!”

To me, she came off as a Child of the Reagan Revolution, some try to quote Reagan and fail, she did a great job doing it.

not on CNN....tee-hee, 1/2 of the independents have changed to Obama

For CNN, that's "independents". I don't trust CNN for even a nanosecond.

McCain died in the first half hour. He wiped the floor with Obama in the rest of the debate, but he killed himself on the economic stuff.

We listened on radio..and I thought that Biden was sort of choked up and maybe crying. That worked for Hillary, but it doesn’t work for him.

You mean the Bush people that came on board McCain after he picked Palin that were replaced when Davis and Schmidt flew in and took her back to AZ? Those lowlifes who no longer will be handling Palin?

I've heard that Palin is booked to do The View. If they're serious about squandering their best campaign asset that way, there are still people who need to be fired.

I thought the group response to Governor Palin was amazing. I think they were stunned that she was this good, even though she wasn't flawless. So much negative has been written, and as one lady said "edited", about Palin that this was not the person they were expecting.

Great job Governor! Let's hope this equates to some poll swings in McCain's favor in a few days and some increased media attention on your stump speeches.
