Great little birds -- and so nice that y'all had a nature break, so to speak, so far from shore. It's like a message from home.

Another very friendly bird is the house wren or Carolina wren. They LOVE to be around people and will nest in the oddest places. We didn't use our front door for the longest time because a pair of Carolina wrens decided to use the wreath on the door knocker to raise a family and we didn't want to disturb the babies. But the mama would sit in the wreath and hold a conversation with me while I was sweeping the front steps.

Saved a wren three weeks ago. You would be amazed how many birds get blown out to sea during strong offshore winds. They land on the oil rigs. Then some of them fly down on to the ship and we give em aride back to shore. Us oil drillers are not all evil like they say on the news. There is million of fish around the rigs. They love it. It is like a free Sea World.
