I've always considered Parker a lightweight. Her columns read like conservative boiler plate -- nothing deep or uniquely insightful. I've found drive-by FReeper comments more insightful (and certainly more amusing) than anything Parker has ever written. The best indicator of my admiration for a writer is how often I've forwarded one of their columns to a friend. I've never forwarded anything written by Parker.
Compared to the literary eloquence of a Peggy Noonan or the Mencken-esque wit of an Ann Coulter, Kathleen Parker is just stale. Her Palin column, which I disagreed with, was probably the most interesting thing she's ever written simply because of the response it generated. She should now sink back into her blah, blah, blah boiler plate.
