Wouldnt this mean more government control over businesses? The “mistake” was when the government stepped in and did ANYTHING, root cause analysis. IF the govt didnt say a word, it wouldnt have happened. This was purely introduced by President Clinton and allowed to happen under his cartel.

Well, FWIW and IMHO, mortgage lenders and investment bankers probably should shoulder much of the blame, where most of the subprime loans originated. Fannie and Freddie came to the game a little later but jumped in with both feet at the behest of Billy Jeff's regulations to put anybody that could fog a mirror in a house.
