Even if your bank collapses, nobody will have the authority to call in a mortgage that is not in default. That's a major legal change that emerged sometime after the Great Depression.
Thanks guys for the info. We are not in default and have always paid on time so no problems there. I jsut didn’t want to find myself in a situation where I needed to come up with $40,000 overnight to cover it. I could do it if I had time to sell things off and with our savings but it would not be an overnight thing. I’ve been a little aggitated all weekend wonfering how that would work.
