If the stock market crashes, which it will if we don’t pass this, Obama gets elected. That’s blindingly obvious.

You keep saying WE have to pass this. The republicans have no say in it what so ever, the dems can pass it without help. They simply want the republicans to share the blame when things go south later on. If the Dems fail to act, BozObama will take just as big a hit as McCain will. It is up to the dems to pass it or fail it, you can quit being hysterical anytime now because the majority of us are simply not buying into it.

That’s why it doesnt make sense to capitulate on this bill.

It is going to pass anyway, they dont need the Rs.

And as soon as it passes, they arent going to give the Rs any credit anyway- “it’s all Bush’s fault”, “NObama is our hero”.

What is the up side to Rs voting for it>

Wrong - the Dems will not share any blame. The blame will fall squarely on the GOP in the world of DNC Medialand. If the House and Senate GOP go along with the Dem leaders, then Bush - A REPUBLICAN - will sign the bill into law. Don't ya see who is responsible in a DEM controlled mass media?
