The cable news networks are standing by for a press conference by House Republicans on the bailout bill. It should start some time after 6:30 p.m. EDT.
I’ll hold judgement until all the details are released.
Kudlow on radio said most all of the poison was removed and that it wasn’t properly pointed out that taxpayers WILL be paid back. He said that the Paulson bailout portion was significantly reduced as well.
Let’s see what the final package looks like, Kudlow made me feel a LITTLE better so there’s no reason to jump off a cliff...yet, LOL
They have just about killed the republican party....They say a revised bill, but I don’t think so, they say blahhhh, THE RATS WON and they are going to hit the pubs so hard that you can bet they’ll win both houses and the WH...WHAT IDIOTS! Money for ACORN! I bet they are celebrating up the butt and OsAMA must have a smile from one end of his DUMBO EAR TO the other....
So here is what we say: You vote for this bill, you are responsible for its consequences. And those will be swift and severe. Total cave. Not that I saw a good option, but total cave nevertheless. Big Tax Hikes coming. Bet on it.
It seeems like we’re missing something here......... is it China?
I am VERY interested in what GOP members said YES and what members said NO! Hate to say it, but this is going to change some vote support, IMO
MCCAIN HAS BEEN MAKING CALLS IN SUPPORT OF THIS BILL!!!! WTH!
Boehner speaks.
Hmmmmm. Made it sound like other members hesitant to support it.
I want to hear names. I want to hear Frank and Dodd excoriated.
One can dream....
I do think the insurance dynamic in this is terrific. This will keep this from ever happening again.
Eric Cantor is handsome...he’d be a guy I’d have went after in my day of men, buses and love.
Heh....as in...Men are like a bus...you miss one and another one will come right along.
I do like the insurance program....note the Dems didn’t come up with this thing.
Boehner’s tan starting to fade.
I’m not unhappy with the bill save that it even had to happen. Why aren’t these pubbies attacking the Dems that caused this?
Wouldn’t be “nice”? Boehner praising McCain.
boehner says mccain has been making phone calls in support of this bill...........he added that if not for mccain standing up for his postion in the bush meeting this compromise wouldn’t have been possible......they think they saved us from a worse bill
The leadership caved, I think that the rake and file are balking.
Couldn't resist.
The only way to avoid that would have been for the Republican leadership to come out against this bill and not vote for it. Now they're going to be painted as the ones who caused it and if it fails to do anything or makes it worse the Republicans are going to get the blame for making it worse.
Republicans got rolled.
I feel like I’ve just ate a bunch of greasy fair food.
A bad taste in my mouth and a pain in my stomach.
McCain supported it! Acording to Boehner ...tomorrow will be vote.
Here is how I see it. If the Reps put their foot down, completely, the Dems would have eventually voted for their version of the bill and President Bush would have signed it into law. With massive amounts of cash to ACORN, no oversight. It does not matter to the Dems if the economy tanks, as long as The O gets into office.
If the final version of the bill is better than the others, we are still footing the bill, but there will be more protection and oversight. Time will tell.

the rank and file are not busy negotiating.......they are hearing from the American public.
