Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son's Bracelet because he turned it into a Campaign / Media Event!!
Video/Audio of Ryan's father Brian Jopek telling Wisconsin Public Radio that his ex-wife Tracy had misgivings about Obama wearing the bracelet and mentioning their son on the campaign trail. Tracy Jopek supports ending the war so she gave Obama the bracelet but she had wanted it to be a private thing just between them. After Obama mentioned it in a speech Tracy asked Obama not to wear the bracelet. Obama did not honor the fallen soldier's mother request, but to score a "me too" political point he brought up the bracelet in the first presidential debate and also had a hard time remembering Ryan's name
How right you are. I don’t always see everything & I usually don’t mind if something gets posted a few times. I skip it if I see it again ....I don’t see the big deal. However I am glad to see this one & feel more people should know about it.
Again I agree. But Obama has morals? Of course not. you and I and the rest of us would be sensitive to that.

Did the Matthew Stanley family ask McCain not to use the bracelet. I betcha McCain cleared with them ahead of time that it was okay to bring the bracelet up.
The despicable thing here is that he couldn’t even remember the kid’s name. He actually had to read it off the bracelet during the debate.

MILWAUKEE - The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was “ecstatic” during Friday’s debate when Senator Barack Obama mentioned the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.
Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that he remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.
She criticized Internet reports that suggested Obama exploited her son for political purposes.
She acknowledges e-mailing the campaign in February asking that Obama not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she says Obama’s mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Senator John McCain said a soldier’s mother gave him a bracelet.
Jopek says Obama’s comment rightfully suggested there’s more than one viewpoint on the war.
