In response to a few people on this thread about McCain’s polls, tell me when McCain led the opposition to this bill? Best I can see he’s keeping his options open as to which side he’ll land on.
Yes, he didn’t embrace the Paulson Bill but he hasn’t embraced House Republican’s either. Why should he benefit for being wishy washy?
Not that Obama should benefit either, but for those of you tying this to the bill maybe you ought to consider he hasn’t been the voice of the House Minority on this. Far from it. His indecision has only kept the bill in Limbo, that’s it.
At this point I could care less about McCain’s polls. I’m more interested in what the House GOP will do. They can’t stop it, but they can vote en masse against it. That would do more then anything to convince me they are worth helping again.
