I listened to the debate on radio and I thought McCain blew Obama out of the. water. The clips I saw on TV seemed to lessen McCain’s message a tad, which supports the style over substance argument.
I think I may have underestimated McCain’s knowledge on foreign affairs. He had better command than I anticipated.
McCain definitely won the trucker and blind vote for those listening on radio.
I don’t know. I was watching the debate on Fox and I don’t know about other networks, but the split screen when McCain was speaking showed Obama in a very negative light.
Voters who listen to the radio tend to be blue collar and work while listening to the radio, hence truckers, construction crews, etc.
That’s why radio listeners gave Nixon the nod while TV viewers gave it to Kennedy.
Also TV viewers tend to focus on “style” and “presentation” and are lead by “emotions”
Radio people listen to facts.
