In football terms....

Obama came on succint, forceful, and on message on the bailout issue, while McCain was sluggish and vague. McCain was hampered by a need to remain bipartisan, given his theme, and the ongoing development of a bill.

Obama: Two well-orchestrated drives, McCain on his heels: 14-0 Obama at halftime.

As the debate turned to foreign policy, McCain pounded home his message using the reliable running game, and ultimately crammed it down Obama's throat, dictating the nature of hte contest. Obama made it respectable, however. Well-fought contest. Final score McCain 28, Obama 21.

Think about it...McCain is trying to hammer out the right bill for the taxpayer in a Democrat majority congress. Obama ain't trying to hammer out anything...same ole empty suit...PRESENT

Krauthammer just called it a tie. Given the tendency for Freepers to look at things with a definite prejudice, from what I'm hearing it was a draw.

As Krauthammer also said, which I agree with, is that this was the biggest hurdle Obama will face from now until the election and he made it through just fine.

For what it's worth.

I would say 7-0 Obama at the end of the 1st quarter, 10-7 McCain at the half, 35-10 McCain when the clock hit 0.

Well thought out analysis, which I agree with up to a point.
Too much of what BHO said were talking point after talking point, even during the economic discussion which is absolutely current.

Let’s not forget how many times he agreed with McCain. Sean just finished saying he counted 8 instances which he did that.

i would say Barack had a slight lead at the half, but John took control, pulled away and covered the spread.
