Sorry Danae,
I’m backing the newbie in this case. Check out the OP’s posting history. That, and combined with purposely changing the article’s title to make it inflammatory is the mark of a troll.
I’m not really sure I understand your point. I was simply thanking conservativepoet for pointing out to me that there was another thread that offered an entirely different take on the situation from the one implied by the original title of this post.
At least the title of the other thread corresponded to the title of the original article. The veracity of the information in the article, and whether the title is misleading or not was not the point of my comment to conservativepoet.
My reaction was assuming the story was true. I have been burned by McCain so much, the knee-jerk reaction should be understanable. I hope the ABC story is false. He can really take the lead here and fashion a free market alternative to the plan, announce it at the debate, and catch Obama off guard. I hope he does.
You’re welcome
True.
I’m just guessing: if the CFO and CEO et al believe that they can turn around the operation with a cleaned up balance sheet, they might stick around. If not, screw em — they got into the mess in the first place, and that would open an opportunity for a hero-wannabe to come to the rescue. Also, what is the market for a CEO who drove a company into near bankruptcy with Uncle Sam coming to the rescue.
I hear that Blount is now pushing an alternative plan. Guaranty of the bad assets with some capital infusion. That was the Japanese model, and didn’t work well.
I betcha a dollar that some version of the Paulson plan goes thru. ;-)
We’ll know by next week. The clock is ticking.
I can't take you up on it because I agree.
Oh well. Try to have a good weekend despite all this mess.
That figures. Thanks for the info. Last time I clicked on dlt’s name, he/she wasn't banned or suspended. Oh well... Darn it.
Of course he is. Most liberals are.
