Gianna Jessen: Above Obama's pay grade
WorldNetDaily ^ | 9/24/08 | Jill Stanek

Posted on 09/24/2008 4:11:13 PM PDT by wagglebee

To recap, then-state Sen. Barack Obama voted against the Illinois Born Alive Infants Protection Act four times in three years, from 2001 to 2003, and was the sole senator to speak against it on the Senate floor twice.

Remaining on Obama's campaign website to this day, in a section boasting of his pro-abortion bona fides, is an ABC News story quoting the Illinois Planned Parenthood CEO during that time: "[Pam] Sutherland said Obama approached her … and worked with her and others in crafting the strategy. …"

Note "approached her." Obama took the initiative to kill Born Alive, which was simply a bill declaring all born babies legally protected persons.

No hidden agenda, Born Alive was introduced in response to my revelation that Christ Hospital – located only five miles from Obama's church, Trinity United Church of Christ, and affiliated with it as well – was shelving late-term abortion survivors to die in a soiled utility room next to the bio-hazardous waste, soiled linens and urinal.

I am now the executive director of BornAliveTruth.org, a 527 organized to educate the public about Barack Obama's radical opposition to Born Alive.

Were it up to Obama, Gianna would not be here.

And that is ALL that needs to be said!

Obamacide!

Due to some glitches the Terri Dailies, "Let Lauren Live" is not accessable at this moment. Meanwhile, we are still around and on this thread by wagglebee. As our most recent news showed, Lauren is now out of danger and will be moved to a new facility. We are tracking at this time the case of Haleigh Poutre and that of Eluana Englaro,of Italy, who is sharing a similar plight as did Terri Schiavo.

Haleigh Poutre update...

It is the DSS of Massachusetts which wants the media to go away, and they have ever since the beginning a few years ago when they attempted to snuff little Haleigh by pulling the plug. They keep her virtually as chattel and just do not want the public to see what is happening to this possession of theirs. Happily Buffy Spencer of "The Republican" keeps up the pressure. We have kept watch since the beginning.

.....................................

SPRINGFIELD - The defense lawyer for 14-year-old Haleigh Poutre's stepfather wants all court appearances by the girl in the child-abuse criminal case open to the media. Attorney Alan J. Black, who represents Jason D. Strickland in the criminal case in which he is charged with assaulting Haleigh, filed a motion on Wednesday opposing the state's request to bar the press when the girl is in court for a hearing on whether she is competent to testify at Strickland's trial.

In the motion, he challenged the motives of the state Department of Children and Families in the agency's request to bar the media, saying he believes the agency does not have Haleigh's best interests in mind........

More on Haleigh...

..........................

Haleigh Poutre may testify in her own horrific abuse case - a significant indicator of how far the brain-damaged Westfield girl has come in her recovery - but reporters may be barred from covering the dramatic moment.

The Department of Children and Families, which has custody of Poutre while she recovers in a Boston rehabilitation hospital, filed a motion in Hampden Superior Court asking a judge that the press be excluded from covering all of Poutre’s court appearances, said DCF spokeswoman Alison Goodwin.

The agency believes news coverage would severely infringe upon Poutre’s privacy, she said.........

Press may be barred from Haleigh Poutre testimony

I apologize if my posts sound off topic for this thread. I do not wish to diminish the courage of Gianna Jessen or that of Jill Stanek, both closely watched in Terri Dailies. The story of her horrific beginning in this world paints the Obamunist by contrast as a cold blooded death enthusiast and the more this story circulates, the better for our country.

Here is how it relates, a news item from Nigeria...

...................................

...In many European and American countries, pain, suffering, sickness, physical disability etc are detested. The elderly is seen as unproductive who must be discriminated against or sidelined or even killed. Many elderly people are dumped in Old People's Homes without care and human affection. Many useless physicians see their role in medicine only from the angle of assisting sick patients or "patients in vegetative state" to die. That is what they call euthanasia or mercy killing. It is tragic that medical doctors and nurses trained in healing and caring for the sick have become midnight merchants of death. Remember the tragic assisted-killings of Ramon Sampedro and Terri Schiavo? What Pope John Paul 11 termed the "culture of death" has overtaken Europe and America today. I think Belgium , Netherlands , France , Switzerland have legalized euthanasia. Medical doctors in those countries are now allowed to give patients an overdose of drug to kill them. I remember reading a very terrible assisted suicide case in one of these anti-life countries. A mother of about four had been ill for a long time. She was rich. Her husband was also rich. But both of them detested illness. So one Sunday afternoon this woman called her husband and four children to the parlour and told them that she was going to commit suicide because of her prolonged illness. So the housemaid prepared a sumptuous last meal for the family. After the last meal, she bid her husband and four children final farewell. Being a medical doctor, her husband took her to the parlour and administered an overdose of drugs and death injection on her to kill. After that he and the children left the parlour. One hour, two hours, the lady was still alive, breathing hale and hearty. Then the man prepared another round of overdose and death injection and administered on his wife. After three hours, the woman was still alive. Then the man and the children angrily stormed the parlour and started pummeling the woman with cudgel and heavy objects. She died later not from the drugs and death injection, but from the heavy pummeling. What a society? What a bestial life? How can a sane husband join his children to kill his beloved wife simply because she was ill? This is our tragedy.

Gradually this culture of death is being imbibed in Nigeria . Some Nigerian women now terminate the lives of their unborn deformed babies because they don't want to give birth to deformed babies. We are in trouble. 1,500 years ago St. Augustine wrote that it is never licit to kill any human being, even if he/she wishes it. This truth has not changed today. It is senseless to terminate the lives of the terminally ill, physically challenged, infirm or the unborn simply because we feel that they are becoming a burden or liability to the society. We must have compassion on our fellow physically challenged and defenseless human beings. One of my friends in Surulere, Lagos today is a partially-crippled young man who always directs traffic in front of the National Stadium, Lagos . He is a very cheerful young man who understands the meaning of human existence. Every day he puts smiles on the faces of many angry motorists by waving at them. If Eucharia Njideka Iyiazi, Lucy Ogochukwu Ejike, Godwin Joseph Mbakara, Casy Tibbs, Erin Popvich and others had been killed in abortion clinics or through euthanasia they would not have been alive today to excel at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. At an open-air Mass in France recently, Pope Benedict XVI told the sick, infirm and physically-challenged not to despair or long for death in their sufferings and pains because even in sickness their dignity as human beings remains in tact. I agree with the Pope. God does not make mistakes. He has a purpose for keeping the sick, unborn, infirm and physically-challenged alive.

I fail to find the words to describe how despicable this Obamunist guy is. Each day I think I have my arms around the concept, he bursts out with even more vile character. For he is far more than simply a "pro-choice" candidate, appearing almost obsessed with lust to snuff. In this other thread by wagglebee, the critter would create a class of obamacidal maniacs to whip us subjects into shape. FOCA.

..............................

With so much attention on the economy, one area of federal legislation that can be overlooked is abortion. An old and dangerous bill that will increase abortions by an enormous amount is being resurrected by abortion advocates: the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). H.R. 1964 and S.1173.

FOCA is usually reported as “codifying Roe v. Wade,” but it is much more. Since the Webster and Casey decisions in 1989 and 1992, the Supreme Court has allowed states to limit abortion somewhat by such things as requiring parental involvement and informed consent, prohibiting government funding of most abortion, and more recently outlawing most partial birth abortions.

But FOCA tolerates none of this. Advocates and opponents of FOCA all agree that the bill would nullify every legal limit on abortion, state, federal or otherwise. Americans United for Life, as well as the Family Research Council, explain this fact in great detail. Abortion advocates who want FOCA concur: NOW, NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and FOCA sponsor Senator Barbara Boxer all contend that FOCA will strike down all state pro-life laws...........

Barack Obama's "Freedom of Choice Act" Would Mean 125K More Abortions

The Terri Daily threads are still down. Meanwhile...

...........................................

WASHINGTON—For any family who has paced anxiously in the halls of a hospital, mulling over decisions about loved ones near death, bills and attorneys' documents are far from their minds.

But those are often the practicalities that have to be dealt with. If the patient has not signed an advance directive stating how to be treated in case of incapacitation, which most Americans haven't, then the family is torn between wanting to pursue every cure possible and wanting to lessen their loved one’s pain—often with high costs.

Terri Schiavo was in the middle of a familial tug-of-war that ended with the removal of her feeding tube in 2005. She was 41 and in a vegetative state when she died, raising questions across the country about the right-to-die, the sanctity of life, and the definition of “personhood.”

Her name was in the air Wednesday as senators who make up the Special Committee on Aging met to discuss legislation and federal funding for end-of-life care.

End-of-life decisions belong to the family, not the government, argued Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), who said he voted against legislation to halt Schiavo's death in 2005.

"It's a discussion more than anything else about free will," said Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), who chaired Wednesday’s hearing. Whitehouse emphasized, along with other Democrat senators at the hearing, that health care providers should be enabled to minimize a patient’s pain, avoiding unnecessary treatments that often end in "turning a person we love into a snarl of tubes and wires."

If aliens came to earth, Whitehouse said, "they would wonder why it is we choose to torment the dying."

The questions about death's door decisions come just ahead of the Bush administration's planned Medicare cuts set to go into effect Oct. 1, which would dock about $2.2 billion in funding to hospice care over five years.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, the lone Republican at the hearing, urged members to reverse the cuts.

"This makes no sense at all," Collins said of hospice cuts. "[Hospice care] is more compassionate ... it's less expensive."

Many hospice care providers agree, saying that hospice care saves families money and makes the dying process less wrenching.

"What I think the Bush administration is trying to do is increase regulation on hospice agencies," Mark Mollenkof, a Christian hospice nurse in Chattanooga, Tenn., told WORLD. "It's going to limit what we can do with families to help them through the dying process."

The Senate committee and the witnesses present were able to talk about pull-the-plug decisions and death without discussing personhood once. Whitehouse mentioned preserving patients' "humanity and dignity," in reference to their ability to choose their terms for death. There's a fine line between giving the "dignity" of a quick death, it seems, and recognizing the dignity of a person deserving unrelenting medical help. How doctors define dignity and personhood must be part of a discussion about when to let people die.

"We're not there to help people die," said Mollenkof. "We're there to help people go through the dying process."

But with philosophical insight, witnesses at the hearing said the problem is that most Americans aren't prepared to face their final moments, leaving families in moral and legal quandaries.

"Most people don't want to die," said Diane Meier, a professor of medical ethics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, after her testimony to the committee. Family members sometimes override the legal requests of a dying patient who is incapacitated in the moment, she said.

As families make real-time decisions for incapacitated patients, the laws on those decisions vary from state-to-state. Along with an array of statutes, people in hospitals and hospice care approach death in an array of different ways.

"Different cultures have different mindsets about life and death—African American, Asian American ... even between first and second generations," said Oklahoma Attorney General W.A. Drew Edmondson, who also testified Wednesday, explaining why passing legislation on end-of-life decisions is difficult and how that difficulty is compounded by differing state laws. "I'd like to see a lot more uniformity across the nation."

Decisions on death ... FAMILY: The Senate Special Committee on Aging discussed end-of-life care without even mentioning “personhood” | Emily Belz

What a classic illustration it is of the projections by the left, of haters calling people they hate haters...

In this thread by wagglebee, we see the ObamaNation for what it is while the despicable calls the innocent victim despicable.

.................................

Obama responded to Jessen's commercial with an ad of his own, dismissing it as "truly vile" and a "despicable lie." He wasn't the only one: Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, called Jessen "a self-proclaimed abortion survivor." When Stanek produced the evidence of Jessen's claims, Politico removed Martin's slam..............
