“But wearing a Bush/chimpanzee shirt is okay by them.”

It is? It certainly wouldn’t be at our local elementary schools. This kid’s dad sounds like putz to me.

We cracked up when the dad called the whiners and Alan “pansies”. So funny. And so correct!

Public schooling is a sensitivity contest. She who is most sensitive to any perceived/contrived bothersome words will have others scorned or even temporarily exiled. Such pretended acuteness of sensitivities is later carried into corporate offices.

If the government defenders want government schools then we should amend the federal Constitution and all state constitutions to read as follows.

Government will use police threat to imprison children ( who have committed no crime)for 180 days a year in government buildings. While there the government will do the following:

* Forbid free speech of both the child and the parent.

* Forbid free press of both the child and his parents.

* Forbid free expression of religion for nearly all of the imprisonment day.

* The government will strictly determine with whom the child will assemble. The child will have almost no opportunity for free assembly.

* Since it is impossible for any government “school” to be religiously neutral, the government will establish the religion of the most politically powerful lobby group. The curriculum and all school policies will indoctrinate the child in this worldview and do all that is possible to destroy the religious traditions taught at home.

* The government will threaten all taxpaying citizens with police action if they do not fork over thousands of dollars in taxes to pay for this First Amendment and freedom of conscience monstrosity.

* The government will allow parents to ransom their children from this abusive system by paying extra ( in addition to taxes for the government indoctrination camps) for private tuition and/or homeschooling expenses.

I’d support the schools on this if it went both ways, but it never does. If the Tee Shirt was anti-Bush or McCain then nothing would have happened.
