Excellent article!
That MUST be what I was “reading”!
I’ve actually been to Palin’s house in Wasilla. It’s a beautiful home with a high ceiling and large windows looking out over an Alaskan lake with Alpine mountains on the horizon. There’s a floatplane in the lake. The lawn, in summer, is lush and green. In other words, anyone calling her “white trash” is stupid or deliberately trying to misinform people. Perhaps both.
Alas for some of the more conservative voters, we expected the CBC and it's taxpayer funded monolith to get a bit of a come uppance with the new Harper government. It is true that the "Cultural and Arts community" (choke) had some tax payer funding cancelled. Thick with CBC of course. Much of their "art" was Anti-Christian and derogatory of family values and sheer propaganda. Screams of "censorship" have followed. As if anyone stopped these worthies from passing the hat.
Sorry to say that the fierce occasionally virago like NOW had high salaries and great renumeration to sit all year around and disseminate feminasty propaganda. First we were told that half of the taxpayers money had been cancelled. Next we learn that the money was re-instated.
In a way conservatives have tried to play the nice guys. Ask poor Joe Clark about doing that. (nine months Prime Minister) temporarily defeated Trudeau. At least NPR in the States has to get monies in part from public subscription. Excuse this rant but...... Mallick is a bell wether. What indeed lurks behind CBC?. Harper and his boys and girls had better watch their back. Conservatives now leading in polls for a majority. It is indeed "not over til' it's over".
In the old fashioned sense- YESSSS. Today's idiom says "Black is beautiful".
Anyway- welcome to the club.

Excellent, excellent column.
Say hi to the Palin gang for me. Sounds like a beautiful place. I’d love to visit (and even to have a place like that of my own).
Great article!
Thanks for posting this, and BTT!
It’s always interesting to see other countries copy-paste American politics. Been there, done that; we can say down below. PBS constantly leans left to get the young voters hyped for Democrats - ‘cause guess who promises more funding no matter what. The “arts” crowd already presented the argument that it’s unconstitutional not to fund every single artist for anything every time regardless of anything that comes through their foundations. Violation of free speech / expression they say if the federal government doesn’t ante up for every picture of Jesus in a toilet and photos of naked men holding hands exhibition. How can those mean old conservatives censure art, the media asked relentlessly - forgetting to mention that the request was actually about leaving open a limitless and unchecked funding stream.
Well on her way to Helen Thomas-dom!

It means “back to the top.”
It’s a compliment, honest!

Plenty of room up here. Once you survive the first winter, you’re in the club.
Let the rants of the leftists be heard by all. It can’t help but help. I’d like our chances if every undecided voter could watch nothing but Olbermann, Matthews, Mad-whatever-her-name-is and Maher for a week.
You didn’t live in my town when you were growing up. We had townies, college professor’s and businessmen’s kids, and rural kids. And nobody mixed much. It’s still there in the school. The professionals’ kids get away with a lot more junk than others do.
