So Obama personally suggested Wexler as a deliberate insult to Palin? I can believe it. The nastiness of Obama is amazing. When he first began to look like a viable candidate for the nomination early this year, I thought that he was just as bad as Hillary on issues but at least a nicer person. I was mistaken—he outdoes the Clintons.
Does Silverstein know this to be a fact, or is he just making it up as he goes along?
Making it up. Living in the past. Dreaming. Take your pick.
Jstreet is a relatively new organization of extremist moonbats who basically believe we should appease Ahmadinejad at all costs. The only way they could get 15,000 signatures is if the Democratic Party supplied them. The founders Ben Ami and Solomon worked for Bill Clinton. One of their main goals this year is to defeat Coleman in Minnesota. This is a Democratic Party front group, nothing more, nothing less. Ben Ami was involved in the Geneva “peace effort” financed by Europeans aimed at Israel’s capitulation to the PLO. Its support in Israel never went beyond two or three percent of electorate.
So this is no longer a rally against Iran but has become a rally against Palin. Hmmmmm
Yes, you’re right about this boasting by the Jewish left. The author of this artice is falsely crediting J Street for this mess and putting in a plug for them in so doing. J Street is a new start-up Jewish leftist lobby that aims to compete with AIPAC.
I am actually surprised the rally didnt morph into a Support Imanutjob gathering. With a guest appearance by the fake Jew Pinch Sulzberger of the NY Times. What a crowd of idiots.
either way, I did not read the article closely because IMO the writer was gloating, and with the affection for Sarah Palin among Conservatives, this could turn really ugly dalight.
For me, the writers point was to stir divisions in Moral people, that is what he was aiming for and he may have hit the target.
Dear Dave,
We received your note and appreciate you telling us of your concerns about the Rally to Stop Iran Now.
Unfortunately, the current focus on the speaker lineup and about the politics surrounding these speakers is diverting us from the overall objective. This was never the intention of the team of organizations planning for the rally, which, by the way, we conducted last year with not one objection expressed about this approach.
This year, in the face of a highly charged national election campaign, we became exposed to concerns about our tax-exempt status, due to what developed as an unequal representation of the parties. In the face of this advice from counsel engaged by two of the sponsoring organizations, we determined that it was not in the best interests of our humanitarian mission to risk our status in this regard.
We are trying very hard now to keep the focus on the main point of the rally, which remains as pressing as ever: to draw the world's attention to the dangers of a nuclear Iran . With Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's appearance at the UN this Monday, it is crucial that our community and others continue to gather to make our voices heard: a nuclear Iran poses a dire threat to the United States and to Israel .
We must act now.Having said that, naturally, we would wish that all of this could have been avoided. Just know that all of the organizers acted in the best interests of the community given the facts at hand.
Shabbat Shalom.
Sincerely,
Howard Rieger
From J Street’s website (unless this is fake):
We Won! Palin Not Speaking at Iran Rally
We collected over 20,000 signatures in 24 hours asking Iran Unity rally organizer Malcolm Hoenlein to take Sarah Palin off the schedule for Monday’s rally, and he caved to our pressure on Thursday afternoon citing the fact that the rally had become too partisan.
This is the right decision. A unity rally to express communal solidarity is no place for partisan politics. And to give such prominence to Sarah Palin alone would have spoken neither to, nor for, the American Jewish community.
This is a victory not just for the 20,188 others who signed J Street’s petition. It’s a victory for the broader community. And we’re pleased the rally’s organizers came to their senses so quickly.
Victories like these don’t come easily - or often. But when they do, we should savor them, at least briefly.
We’ll be back at it tomorrow, because our next task is making sure that the messages at the rally reflect the view of a majority of Americans - Jewish and otherwise - that the best way to deal with Iran is through tough, smart diplomacy - not saber rattling and threats of force.
And trash like this from Jewish lefties will only increase Jewish support for the GOP.
Liberal first; Jewish second.
And how well di the commies treat the Jews in Russia?
Can you say Stalin? Have these Jews forgotten their ‘commrades” who were sent to Siberia or worse? And all the Russian that fled.
Jews in prewar Germany were very thoroughly assimilated and were full German citizens. They believed this status would protect them.
Plus, many of them were socialists and the two major socialist parties (Communist and Nazi) were vying for the same members. Jews preferred the Communists because they were more internationalist while the National Socialists were--well, nationalistic. But as one Jew remarked, "After all, we are Germans." They made the same mistake then that many American Jews are making today--political sympathies outweigh loyalty to heritage and faith.
It won't matter here unless Obama wins--then they will be shocked--shocked I say-- to find that Israel gets thrown over the side. Obama has already stated his intention to negotiate away the interests of the West and side with Islam. If anybody was paying attention and reading between the lines.
My guess is that most of these anti-Palin Jews don't much care about Israel one way or the other. After all, they are comfortable safe and prosperous here, and lip service to Israel is cheap.
This is unfair and unfortunate. Just understand, these folks read and believe the MSM and sources like NPR. At least they did. DO NOT GENERALIZE ABOUT ALL JEWS. Just like other folks, the upper middle class in general has been the last to abandon MSM news sources as being untrustworthy. Non-religious Jews, Catholics, and other seculars make up the bulk of people who believe the lies they are being fed. Unfortunately, the viciousness and the visceral responses engaged now block rational discussion. Some folks cannot be reached at this moment. Walk into a Bar and start preaching against Alcohol and Nicotine and see how many folks are going to listen.
Yet, this is one of those moments that wake people up. There are many in the community who witness this event with Horror. They say, what a beautiful thing it would have been to have Hillary and Palin at this rally. What a message of unity that would have sent about America's commitment to a world of peace and resolve against Iran's ambitions.
Instead, for a momentary supposed gain, a group of cynical Democrat Jews and the Democrat party has chosen to deny this stage to a Republican who could have helped make a difference so that the this may not happen is a sin against our own people.
In this time of year as the New Year looms, we all reflect on what may be forgiven by God and what only may be forgiven by the people injured.
Let us pray for these people who are so lost as to forget the needs of America and Israel in pursuit of dust and ashes.
Many?
Probably most.
Or, at least, the overwhelming majority.
These are the same guilt-ridden Jews who supported the Islamist takeover at Columbia University. In another world and time, they were the first marched into the delousing pens.
For me, the writers point was to stir divisions in Moral people, that is what he was aiming for and he may have hit the target.
Malcolm Hoerlein said it would come out what happened. Who knew they would out themselves. They have no shame.
One rally more or less won't mean squat in the scheme of things. But betraying and insulting your best friends in the world (Conservative Christian Americans) will reap a harvest of very bitter fruit. I hope this Malcolm, whoever he is, is prepared for the consequences. Do these leftwing Jews really think Obama will have their back when Iran and Hezbollah strike?
Obviously, I meant the world’s only democracy in that part of the world.
Now you got Uncle Women, like Sarah Palin, who jumps on the s--t and points her fingers at other women. Turncoat b---h! Dont you f--kin reference Old Testament, bitch! You stay with your new Goyish crappy shiksa funky bulls--t! Dont you touch my Old Testament, you b---h! Because we have left it open for interpre-ta-tion! It is no longer taken literally!
