That's very interesting. I have no civilian experience with flechette loads and will have to do some tests on my range with them.

That's a great piece. Make sure that it cycles the flechette loads okay, if you haven't already. The old trench brooms have quite a history. ...interesting tactics with shotguns during WWI. I'm a history nut, too, ever since instructing at Reserve PLDC schools (leadership course for E-5s these days).

The part about not having ricochets off of the dirt is especially interesting. I'll check those out. Is the energy (ft.-lbs.) as good as low-recoil 9-shot 00? I'll look that up.

You've been at it longer and have more experience than I have, then. ...and more tolerance for boring stuff. IIRC, it was demo ranges that really made me sleepy. ;-)

Hillbilly neighbors got me interested in the Ozarks during the '70s. ...saw some surprising abilities there and learned quite a bit. Scoring high with 5.56 rounds later on was pretty easy because of that (except in heavy rain, of course). ...then recent years of enjoying nerdly peace and quiet. Now some teens have me interested again, so they're having all of that noisy, kicking, powder-stinking fun. ;-) ...safety first and always, of course.
