There was a gigantic turn toward John McCain in the two weeks immediately after the GOP convention. In large part this was due to the Sarah Palin nomination, and the tremendous miscalculation by the Democrats in attacking Palin particularly on issues important to women, such as her caring for her children. That backfired massively. The anti-Palin attack by the Democrats showed a cultural disconnect with America that is remarkable.

Six months ago Morris was stating in no uncertain terms that Hillary Clinton would be the next president.
Pretty soon these idiots will start defacing cars that do not have any stickers on them at all, being paranoid that these cars represent secret McCain voters!
What to do, dearie me, what to do!
Think I will just stay home and order everything over the internet! Or will they go after me if I don’t have an Obama street sign?
(sarc, I hope!)
There is no way Washington state will go for McCain so calling it a tossup is crazy talk.
If they just split the electoral votes that would happen. Or a good Tsunami would do the trick. Relocate the libtards on the coast and California goes red.
“Oregon and washington are tossup states? Thats a bit to optimistic, IMO.”
Morris’ entire EC map is a little too optimistic. Plus, it looks like he made his judgements based on what was happening a week ago.
PA MI AND WI have been exact ties.
They will hack into your email!! I bought several signs so I would have one when they stole the last.
I think if the election were held today, Obama would take two out of three of those states. What do you think?
“It was done when McCain was ahead by 4... Now that he behind about 2 or 3, take about 6 points off of each state”
Take about 6 points off of each state??? WHY????
Nah, they can’t do that! I am a Mac user, so they will respect the Goracle, and leave me alone!
The only McCain - Palin bumpersticker in L.A. County (from what I can see so far) is on my car as well!
I have a good feeling about Michigan and PA. Remember Obamas “small towns” comments ?
Iowa, probably Obama.
That's just it, most of the Liberals in California are in along the coast; Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. Most of the rest of California is Conservative. Just take a look at the red and blue county map from 2004.
Just the sort of thing to get his readership up.
I don’t think so. Rasmussen polled after all the bad economic news and McCain was actually ahead on “Economic Issues” for the first time.
Time to dig up my old "This car insured by Smith and Wesson" bumper sticker. That's a bit of a deterrent.
Well based on events & shift in momentum this week, I’d say that Rasmussen is wrong.
Nice pipe dream, unfortunately. Obama is successfully blaming McCain for the country’s financial problems.
You brave, brave FReeper!
Haven't seen any Obama stickers in the Inland Empire. BTW, when the Obama loses this election if the liberals start acting up, head east, we have lots of guns and ammo.
Don’t know where Dick is getting his projections on NH, IA, and NM but Obama has consistently been leading there, even if the margins were small.
