To: SE Mom

What kills me , is that in their arguements concerning Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Lehman Brothers, is how they try to include the panic to the middle class and the poor.

The Middle Class who lives from paycheck to paycheck is not invested in any exotic mortgage companies, and the poor do not have any money to lose anyway.

I would be surprised to find that any Freeper was affected by the Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, or Lehman Brothers fiascos.

Any Freeper here hurt by these finanical institutions money woes?

Well- here’s why. Everyone who has a retirement account, a pension, a 401K are ALL affected- because of what those are invested in..

Right. Even Bush can't tell the story. Difficult times? Not to me. Nothing has changed here. These are extremely serious challenges but confined to the banking sector. It is a challenge not "difficult times" which makes it sound like all Americans are feeling some sort of depression, bread lines, etc
