My mistake. I thought from the “loose dogs roaming the neighborhood” and “burst through a screen door” that they were not the families dogs (imagining such a thing happening in my neighborhood shocked me out of what I had read at the first part).
I apologize.
Yes! Prosecute the parents! Those dogs were a murder waiting to happen.

Why the parents? They left the child with her grandmother. Yes they knew she had pit bulls, but from the article it seems the dogs were kept in the yard and the baby inside, but then the dogs broke into the house. If these facts as reported are correct, I don’t even see liability for the grandmother as owner of the animals.
