ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The Alaska lawmaker in charge of the abuse of power investigation of Sarah Palin promises the probe will be finished before the election, after all.

Alaska state Sen. Hollis French said Friday the investigator's report on the governor will be completed by Oct. 10, even though key witnesses won't testify.

Typical biased AP reporting. Nowhere does the story mention that this “investigator” is a Democrat Obama Supporter who promised a damaging “October Surprise” before the first witness was even interviewed.

Without the cooperation of witnesses and relevant documentation, the investigation can't produce a complete and unbiased account of Tasergate. But Sen. Hollis French is more interested in politically damaging a partisan opponent than in getting at the truth behind the controversy.

The political attack is so obvious that the charge of “abuse of power” will blow up in the Democrats faces.

Why have witnesses when the verdicts already been determined. It’s the seriousness of the charge, you know. /s

They will produce a “damaging” report, and the media will have feeding frenzy with it.

Exactly. More damaging to French and Dems at this point. Just knowing the behind the scenes taints the investigation.

Just watched my local CBS noon news channel--they had a CBS reporter going on and on about how Todd Palin has chosen not to respond to a subpoena in "Troopergate". CBS's term--not mine.

With all the REAL news that is happening, CBS focused on this.

No CBiaS there at all. (s)

I don’t think so... with 80% of the voting public on Palin’s side, I don’t see elected officials trying to bring her down... I suspect their report will just close the matter with a statement that without being able to interview witnesses, they can only fall back her released emails and various public statements that show the guy served at her pleasure.

I thought the witch hunts ended in Salem.

All women should be outraged at these 21st century witch hunts brought to you by Obama and the good old boy network of the Democratic party.

At every turn, when this whole incident comes up, it needs to be rebutted with “Oh, you mean the TaserGate Scandal” and the abuse of the Investigator’s Authority”? There is NO ABUSE by the sitting Governor of Alaska, case closed.

This is just another Witch Hunt by Traitor Democrats. Isn’t this so-called committee made up 100 percent of Democrats?

How can corrupt Democrats investigate a Republican? Everyone knows the Democrats are the Party of Corruption, Republicans are innocent. They have no right to subpoena Governor Palin, her husband or members of her Administration, they all have executive privilege.

Also, the investigation of Senator Stevens should be Dropped or Postponed until after the election. That is just another partisan Witch Hunt by the Dimocrats.

The final report will be faxed to Hollis French from a Kinko’s in Abilene, Texas.

What he is actually saying is that despite the fact that he can't get witnesses to testify and has no legitimate information warranting an investigation (let alone a finding of improper conduct), he will find a way to smear Palin before the election anyway.

HA!

Hollis French’s part may well end before the election. But the probe itself is dead until after the election with none of the major people actually testifying. If French tries to pull a fast one and issue a report based on what he has so far, it will either be a whitewash or so totally skewed as to be absolutely worthless. It all depends on how much French is in the tank to the Obama campaign. I can see a big fight coming over whether to simply dissolve the committee.

The Democrats have already written the "report". No investigation is necessary. No facts are necessary.

It is just a matter of timing the release of the Democrat stink bomb for maximum political effect.
