“And yet the Battleground states are as strong as ever for McCain?!?!”

Yeah, I know. This poll doesn’t sound right. It really doesn’t.

It’s going to take a few days for it to sink in to people that Obama and his advisers are part of the root cause of the financial problems.

Right now, Obama has been successful at pinning this on Republicans.

Just wait until the debates when Obambi stumbles.

This is a result of the constant Obamedia attacks on McCain/Palin-as well as the distortion of the fundamentals statement.

Barry will screw up soon enough

Sorry folks, the fact that this election is so close is a testament to where we are as a country. Disgraceful...

McCain hasn’t shown anything resembling leadership on this issue and allowed Barry O to grab territory. His camp screwed the pooch on the messaging thing and it is going to cost him huge.

State polls come out usually later.

I agree. The USA of 20 years ago would see a radical leftist like Obama having absolutely no chance of being elected to any level of national office. Pretty tragic.

It certainly can’t be considered good news, but I guess based on Gallup’s own recent article stating how they handle registered vs. likely voters and the fact that the final Gallup registered voter poll in 2004 had Kerry winning by 2 points, and their likely voter poll had Bush by 2 points (final result was Bush by 2.5), I will consider their public registered voter poll as needing to subtract 4 points.

This makes it a tie (same as Rasmussen likely voter poll today), which is probably about what current reality is at this stage.

It’ll be interesting to see the results of the “likely voter” piece of the next USA Today/Gallup poll, which previously had McCain ahead 54-44.

Using lies & deceipt, the Obama camp went on the attack early with regards to the Lehman Bros. collapse and McCain has been on the defense every since. It is easy to blame the polls as be “biased” but they have ALL shown some movement away from McCain. My fear is that it will prove very difficult for the McCain camp to regain momentum.

Our perfect two party system with each party standing for everything good and against everything bad, has been successfully gamed by dedicated communists Ayers and Dohrn and their hand puppet 0bama. Eat your heart out Chairman Bob Avakian!

Cat, you still cling to Gallup as it were the gold standard.

When Obama breaks 50%, then you can worry.

Please continue to ignore Battleground and RAS and other quality pollsters.

I can remember not trusting Gallup’s numbers in previous elections. Too far in the D direction then, too, I recall. Don’t know why, but they were. Maybe a procedural tendency of some sort?

Well, sometimes national polls lead state polls in trends.

It could be very likely the state polls with tighten up or start having an Obama lead.

We should not brush this stuff off.

That said, I refuse to make myself sick over polls at this point.

There is plenty of time to be worried about the country if Obama wins or the polls look grim the week before.

I don’t want to turn my entire life upside down because of this....there are many more things than politics that are important....who wants to be miserable because of polls?
