Currently David Axelrod is desperately trying to make his counter part Rick Davis the enemy. This is done for one simple reason. It has worked in the past. When the Washington game players have wanted something, they put pressure on the staff of the politician. The staffer wants to be liked and have access to the other players in the game. Without that access to the other players in the game he cannot get in the game. The politician will only hire staffers who are in the game. Obama’s staffer is putting pressure on McCain’s staffer so that Rick Davis will change McCain’s game … not for what it will do for McCain, but what it will do for Rick Davis. This tactics has worked in the past with staffers to Orrin Hatch, Trent Lott, Bob Dole, Bill Frist, Dick Lugar and a who’s who of Republicans in the US Senate.
McCain did not bring a knife fighter to the game. He brought a hockey mom with lipstick. She was not coming to play the game. She was coming to destroy the game.
The Obama camp Alinsky organizers violated a cardinal rule of organizing, as described by Shel Trapp above. Their mistakes in playing the game have turned the game upside down. The Obama organizers are no longer the rescuers of the victims. They are now the enemy, the oppressors who victimize women, the oppressors who victimize people in small towns who cling to their guns and religion.
Thesis. The classical game is played between domineering fathers and teenage daughters where there is a sexually inhibited mother. Father comes home from work and finds fault with daughter, who answers impudently; ... Their voices rise and the clash becomes more acute. The outcome depends on who has the initiative. There are three possibilities: (a) father retires to his bedroom and slams the door (b) daughter retires to her bedroom and slams the door (c) both retire to their respective bedrooms and slam the doors. In any case, then end of a game of "Uproar" is marked by a slamming door. "Uproar" offers a distressing but effective solution to the sexual problems that arise between fathers and teen-age daughters in certain households.
