And yes, she's a fairly capable speaker and goes off script frequently.
I never had a teleprompter to help me at training conferences but I could drone on for at least an hour about budget processes ~ WITHOUT the Ground Hog Day Effect.
In fact, I usually came with props, funny, even strange stories, off the cuff discussion about time spent in convents, and could almost always leave them laughing AND remembering ~ even years later ~ what I'd said.
Teleprompter stuff is not always the best stuff, still I've seen her speak in person and it appeared to me that she can speak extemporaneously as well as from prepared text. This is something Obama has not demonstrated!
Obama off his teleprompter goes something like this:
“Uh . . uh . . .uh . . you know . . .that’s a hard question to answer . . uh . .uh . .you know . . . hope we need . . uh . . change . . audacity of that hope and that change . you know . . lipstick on a pig . . stinky fish is still the same . . uh . . ah . . . . but, the short answer is yes, I AM the uh . . uh . . one.”
