Actually, I just got back from San Diego where I watched them putting the finishing touches on the triple-layer. In one spot they are moving 2 million cubic yards of dirt to fill in a little place called Smuggler’s Gulch. South of El Paso, the fence is a handsome 18-feet high. You need to get out more. Are you able to travel by yourself now? If I could figure out how to copy and paste pictures on a Mac I would post some for you.

http://www.nationalledger.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi?archive=24&num=19915 I was also briefed by the border chief in the Tucson sector, where roughly half of all illegal immigrants funnel into the United States. Unfortunately, the Tucson sector has a ways to go before matching the effectiveness being demonstrated today in the Yuma sector. For example, the Tucson sector lags behind in the construction of double-layer fencing, which has been demonstrated to be extremely effective in deterring illegal crossings. And because there are still many areas where primary fencing hasnt been erected either. At this time, Tucson has approximately 49 miles of pedestrian fencing constructed, and roughly 99 miles of vehicle barriers. The goal is to have approximately 73 miles of pedestrian fence and 153 miles of vehicle barriers constructed by the end of this year. vehicles barriers, that is that little railroad thing that doesn't mean anything, anyone can walk through, to call it a fence is a republican joke.
