Still no power but we did just get internet back.Gas for gen should hold out till friday am but downtown Huffman has power and a few gas stations are open. So, I thought I would cook some spare ribs on the pit for tonight and celebrate having a internet connection. On a side note, just heard on TV they are going to remove everyone from Bolivar peninsula. This is disturbing as there are plenty folks who can get back and forth by water. Told wife is my guess is after everyone is removed, the government will condemn the whole peninsula and no one will be allowed to reside there anymore. Lets hope that does not happen folks.

Eastforker...to me that is just wrong. First can they make the people there leave? Yes they need to look at health issues but people not knowing if they can go back soon or even, ever is setting up a disaster for the next storm IMO. The mayor should be working with the home owners instead of considering them as people that will just get in the way. It's happened to me once and my students have reported the same thing...they come up on an accident and administer first aide , direct traffic etc and then when the professional arrive they are treated as ignorant and in the way. Rescues should be planned to work with the public instead of against them. Not all would, but most neighbors would probably be grateful to be close to home and have a volunteer”job” to do that would free rescuers up for more important things. We don't need police officers passing out ice off a truck. A volunteer could do that. Meals could be cooked by volunteers, etc. JAT

Huffman has a downtown?

Is that the Chevron or the dirt yard? ;-)

Me, I'm camped out at work tonight, nursing our new generator.
