I just made it to sw Houston where there's electricity. My neighborhood, Garden Oaks, looks like a war zone. It's an old neighborhood with lots of HUGE trees and many have fallen into houses and streets. We were very fortunate, lots of tree branches fallen but no trees down.

I saw Disaster Recovery trucks staging at Northwest Mall.

Thanks for checking in. Very pleased to know you are safe, and that you have electricity.

I've heard of Garden Oaks, I jsut can't place where it is. I come from Westchase. I'm very happy to hear that your neighborhhod sounds like it's OK - just needs a cleaning up and that you have power.

Do you (or anyone) know what the current number is now of homes without electricity? I heard 1.3 million this morning.

My neighborhood, Garden Oaks, looks like a war zone.

And ironically, my neighborhood is looking less and less like one lately. ;-)
