I saw 500 National Guards vehicles heading to Houston and Galveston yesterday on the news. They are there..they are rescuing people and handing out water and food already!!

This is just your typical democrat politician trying to milk any discomfort at all for political reasons...just like they did during Katrina!

Hey folks in Houston/Galveston who may be lurking..if you can’t find water or ice yet because you were too stupid to stock up before the storm......try looking at the San Luis hotel in Mayor Thomas’s room or perhaps Bill White can share his stash with you...(eye roll)

FEMA IS ALREADY THERE...SO ARE THE NATIONAL GUARD!!

KHOU interviewed a Galveston woman earlier. She didn't evacuate because, "this is our home."

Next sentence, "We don't know where to go to get food and water. Nobody is telling us anything here."

The National Guard in Wisconsin sent five helicopters and 29 crew members to central Arkansas where an intermediate staging base is located.

Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Tim Donovan says the choppers and crew members will remain at the staging base until their support is needed by officials in Texas.

Two Blackhawk helicopters from Madison’s 147th Aviation battalion and three Huey helicopters from the 832nd Medical Company in West Bend arrived at Camp Robinson near Little Rock Tuesday night.

Guard members in Oklahoma, Arkansas (6,000 guards members available), Kansas and Missouri have anticipated the problems associated with heavy rain and winds and will be ready to respond, said state officials.

“We lost everything,” Rivera cried from the rescue boat.

The couple chose not to evacuate, thinking the storm would not be as bad as predicted. But they found themselves fleeing to the attic when water rushed into the house and rose 7 feet up the walls.

Rescue crews plucked them and others trapped in homes and moved them to higher ground elsewhere on the island.
