Note from a Hugo survivor. For those who have storm damage, BE CAREFUL. We had a number of deaths during cleanup. Damaged roofs are dangerous places and chain saws can be deadly as can portable generators.

Did yall just see Senator Culberson on Fox? He said Texans are self sufficient. We have generators, and stock up on food and AMMO. The guy on Fox didn’t know what to say lol

Very good advice. Following storms, common emergencies include chainsaw injuries, fire ant and snake bites, and lacerations from storm debris. Flood waters are heavily contaminated, causing rashes and other skin problems. When mold sets in, respiratory problems occur.

These injuries and illnesses are above and beyond GI problems due to contaminated drinking water, lack of refrigeration for insulin, spoiled food, and respiratory problems without of air conditioning.
