Wow, ch. 11 showing a road in Galveston filled with debris, concrete blocks and wood and power poles, etc.
KHOU-
1901 Memorial has been “Laid to Waste”....
“Why ohh why do we have two languages in America...?”
It has ALWAYS been that way in Texas....
I do remember how the Beaumont area (circa early 1960's) was used to mothball US Navy destroyers from World War II...
And those were visible back then from Interstate 10.
I imagine there could have been flooding in that area (especailly the shipyards)...
Wow! Fox is now reporting live from Galveston.
Anyone with a bit of sense who saw this thing when it hit Cuba and KNEW it was headed west/northwest would have evacuated.
Which Mayor?..... I didn’t watch the videos.
Chlorine gas leak in Surfside.
That's awesome news.
“Our founding fathers would not recognize congress.”
So very true and if the good Lord was willing to let them come back they would hang every last one of them!
Here in Illinois, the EPA has mandated four separate zones, each with its own formulation, in each of the 3 grades ... for a total of 12 different products, at any given time.
This whole set of regulations changes from summer to winter blends for a total of 24 different products in the course of a year ... all of which have at least 10% ethanol.
Fortunately most of our refining is done locally and most of the crude is pumped in from Canada.
Now ... what's all this nonsense y'all are kickin' up down there. We've had close to 6" of rain here in the Chicago area since last night and the remnants of IKE aren't even due here 'til tomorrow.
(former Houstonian, Humblelite, and Springster who was planning to vacation Galveston week after next)
Probably a mix of factors. It would suspend the requirement for gas to be 10 percent ethanol, and it would also allow gas normally restricted to a given region by its formulation to be sent and used anywhere in the country. And it would allow the importation of any gasoline, not just gas that meets EPA formulation requirements. This will help alleviate regional shortages in the Southeast.
Are your lights flickering? Power surges here.
By the time it gets up here it won’t be that bad. Heck we get that type winds in good ol’ Texas thunder boomers. Now if it spawns tornadoes then that will be another matter.
A refinery on Fort Ord (California) would drive lefties ballistic. I like it.
I purchased one from Radio Shack - 7 inch flat screen with amazing picture - several months ago and am extremely satisified. If you have a lot of wiring where you will use it you will need to buy their antenna as well. Total cost with antenna is around $150.00.
Because I take it to work in case of severe weather I keep it in an old laptop computer case. Perfect fit!
If the forecast track holds, DFW shouldn't get it too bad. The worst weather by far will be to the east of the forecast track for the center of the storm.
No, not here. It’s not even raining!
