Ike is very far-reaching. After several previous days of rain now my SIL in Illinois is watching water rising all around her again plus the tornado warnings are out. Ike is everywhere, it seems.

Finally..a voice of reason...LOL. Judge giving them hell..now talking about ‘grading FEMA’....WHO IS GONNA GRADE THEM?
(eye roll)
you’re too kind thanks. My hubby said there was a report of a plane wrapped around a pole at the little airport off spencer... freaky...
Bwwwahahhahaaa...the FEMA guy just said- if you’ve had your entire house wiped out you’re in more need than someone wanting a bag of ice...
AND he reminds them- they were TOLD to have 3 days worth of supplies to tide them over til help arrives.
This is unbelievable...here we go again. Folks who seem to think life is a video game.
Yep, you are definitely within walking distance. They live one block north of San Augustine. Speaking of hummingbirds ... my mom said the last things she would take in when the weather started getting bad were her hummingbird feeders. She wanted to leave them out for the little guys as long as possible :o) I’m sure they’ll all be finding their way back soon. Again, thanks for posting what you’ve seen.
Lost all water pressure. We just got our power on at around 10 so maybe everyone is showering, dishes or clothes and that is the reason.
Anyone lost water pressure?
My potted and bloomin’ bouganvilla got knocked around something fierce yesterday morning. Everything in the yard looks like its been in a 100mph wind except for it. Didn’t lose a single bloom! The hummers will be back.
That was Judge Emmet. It looks like Houston reps are supporting the FEMA guy now, even SJL. I nearly fell out of my chair when she was talking about the difficulty of finding locations for those pods. I think the reps are holding FEMA’s feet to the fire, but aren’t piling on like the media is.
LOL..I heard that! I hope FEMA, the FEDS and The Governor’s office come out swinging on this liberal crap. You know the dem local leaders and politicians are already working to sabatoge relief and place blame for anything and everything on Bush and any other republican.
This is ridiculous!!
Houston mayor already slanting the news....(eye roll)
There have been widespread water pressure problems, with requests to conserve water.
No..the FEMA guy was up and really laid it on the truth line. The Judge made a half hearted attempt at smoothing the ire of the liberal biased media. They are palying the FEMA dude’s comments again on TXCN.
Hey! TRP. Just wanted to announce I am back on the air as well, sadly via cell phone only.
Have heard fom the people who were predicting 3000’ 5000’ even 10000 deaths yet?
Not that they were enjoying it or anything.
And one more shout out to those who just HAD to discuss the amtrak wreck on this thread at the height of the storm when we were just trying to get a little basic info. God love ya.
It’s pretty remarkable to watch the politics play out.
Thanks for the connection on Judge Emmet:)
The mayor isn’t happy, that much is clear.
