It’s still not really bad outside, about 60mph but I went out in the garage and the noise is very creepy. I wish this would have happened during daylight.
Yeah, it really seems like it would be ten times worse due to you not being able to see (I know I freak out at thunderstorms at night more than day). But this storm in so many ways seems to fit that “It will be the darkest before sunrise.” I hope that you stay safe.
Guessing Texas City up to say, Shore Acres are much deeper than an 11 foot surge would indicate. Wind’s just right to sweep over Smith Point without slowing down much at all.
Eeeesh...night time hurricanes are the worst.
fyi--the KHOU weather guy was describing the difference in sound between the howling hurricane winds and the rushing train of tornado winds for folks without electricity who are now listening via radio.
Even when your power is out, ya know there are FReepers somewhere out there watching out for you.
