2 am landfall with surge, plus high tide, plus wave height on top of all that. Wow! Per channel 13.
I like it.
And not just t-shirts... Allegra would surly like some YIKES socks.
See post #73 this thread, and the post#51 map it refers to.
Well her shenanigans make a mockery of people who are on the island and are in grave danger.
“Ghost of” indeed. She should be ashamed.
Fire-something to do w/ oil industry— CNN? Did I hear that right?
Actually, some of the models have shifted west, and the radar trends tend to confirm it will hit just slightly west.
Correction now, it’s a fire at a boat storage area that ff can’t access.
Large indoor boat storage facility w 500g diesel tanks engulfed in flame.
oh crud! i forgot about Tookies! Now, I am just gonna cry...
First, prayers to all. I have literally been sick today, as I realized how horrible this storm is, and to only be able to sit here, knowing that many will not survive.
Second, we here in St. Louis have been warned that massive flooding is in our future. Well, I have filled sandbags before and I am ready to again.

I’m watching CH 13 on the net.
There is a fellow that goes by Robinson that has several!

YIKES hip boots may be in order.
PAtricia- the woman FOX has spoken to a few times today- who has stayed in Galveston- said NOW she’s a little concerned because she’s hearing there are a couple/few fires in town..
Said her house has been standing since 18something - she feels safe.
Not sure what to think about that..seems the storm surge is going to be worse than the 1900 storm.
I think that there may be some local gas problems, but that unless something unexpected happens, it will only be a blip most places.
Certainly the money people aren’t expecting major effects.
My concern is that supposedly other areas have high tide about that time...maybe the water will be bottled in and not be able to go out. We will see I guess.
Ike looks better getting closer to land unfortunately. Hopefully it will do what is expected and not intensify quickly.
She’s kinda stuck there now isn’t she?
Sitting just south of Tomball knowing we’ll be getting hurricane force winds all night. And more than likely will lose electricity which means it’ll be hot and muggy for weeks.
Lost electricity this morning....power company said it was a “line fuse”. Took ‘em 3 hours to fix it. I can only imagine how long it will take when 3,000,000 households are without. And that’s what they’re predicting.
This is a bad storm!
