ABC was smart. They led w/her and made no comments at all. I assume this was the worst of her interview. I can see the headlines later. “VP Cand didnt know the BUsh Doctrine”.

I don’t know if the Bush Doctrine thing will hurt her. Isn’t she being accused of being another “bushie”? So, if she had a pat answer to the Bush Doctrine thing, she would have been accused of being lockstep in with it. Since she isn’t ready with a scripted answer it should be ok. She should just be herself. She seems like a great person. Is she doing any “uhhmmmms,,,or uhhhhs,,,” or qualifying her answers in multiple layers of spin?

Not knowing what the Bush Doctrine was is a major stumble, a gotcha moment, but it may be a blessing in disguise given the controversial nature of preemption doctrine. She muddled her way thru without supporting or opposing it specifically. I would like to hear McCain's position on it.

I thought she handled the NATO question very well. Article 5 of the NATO charter says an attack against one is an attack against all. If Georgia is a member, the assumption of the question asked by Gibson, then her response was spot on. I also liked the way she did not say that our response had to be limited to just a military option.

Gibson tried to make her into a religious zealot bent on launching a crusade against Muslims and using a plan from God. She handled it well along with her son's service.

The editing was atrocious sometimes cutting her off in mid-sentence. The question is what was cut out. And Gibson's palpable condescension was transparent and offputting. What an a**hole.

Don't be... she made him define it and then answered his question in a way to leave no further attack. The left has put other connotations to what is defined as the Bush Doctrine. People need to think as hard a Palin does to understand.

To un depress you and encourage you ( that was their ABC/MSM agenda to do .. to change your mind about her ) .. this will not effect the scorned women's vote at all ... nor will it change my mind about her... we all have our bad days .. unlike Obama's HUGE gaffes... you need to put it in perspective.
Nor will this change the minds of the swing voters or independents after the bad weeks that Obama had.
Her seemingly flaws in this interview are not earth shattering... the only big trip up was her answer to the Bush doctrine question... and she should have said that when John and I get to Washington we will make our own doctrine Charley.

Try not to be. If she had rattled it right off, the opposition would say:"SEE? She's too cozy with the current failed administration and this PROVES she and McCain are just more of the same!"

This give more seperation and keeps that "change agent" thought alive.
