You posted: and recently nailed going 85+ in a Prius. (I didn’t think that was possible)

It is a goofy looking car, but it goes pretty quick if you want it to. I just bought my second one (first one had 130k miles on it— still running great. My son now drives it.) Never had any problems with either of them. And while I can’t say I have had mine up to 85, I have been 80 and it was no problem—

I am no greenie, but the Prius really is a fun car— and my new one is averaging right at 50 mpg overall— mostly highway...

I'm glad it's working out for you. A friend had one and on his first trip from Raleigh to Ashville, it died going up hill.

They were cruising at around 80 on the long steep haul into Ashville. It informed them that it was quiting and suggested they get over to the side of the road.

They pulled over and could not restart it for love or money. They had it towed to the local dealer. The dealer told them that the high rate of speed, combined with the uphill pull, was more than the gas engine could do and had drained the main battery.

They traded it on the spot for a Forerunner.
