IMHO, this storm will have huge financial consequences. Alicia happened 25 yrs ago, and that’s the last big storm to hit the area directly.
AM, can you PLEASE put this thread in Breaking News? I’ve directed friends in Houston towards the website, but they can’t find anything on Ike.
I do not think that the Mods will elevate this to breaking news unless nautinurse requests it. Also, Ike is projected to be a tropical storm in a number of states starting late tomorrow, but they have not been added to the topics list. It has been suggested to NN a number of times that this should be done, but hasn't happened yet. I expect that she is ggetting some needed rest now.
