They mught be running out of plywood down here (Friendswood). I’ve seen some houses with gypsum board (drywall) over the windows. Not sure how well that will hold up once it gets soaked.
I can’t imagine that will work very well. I think it’s better to live in a place where you get them all the time. I wonder how many in Houston have hurricane shutters?
