Our utility companies around here are top notch. If the power (etc) does go off, it won’t be for long.

You ought to be an old hand at dealing with hurricanes. I’m sure you thought your sons well.

Witnessing a convoy of utility trucks from other states en route to assist after a storm...puts a lump in my throat every time.

Well, we didn’t live in a hurricane area when they were growing up (we moved to S. FL only 4 years ago, and the boys were all out of the house by then). Of course, they’ve been thru a tornado (wow, that was something!) and they’re sensible, but they are far enough inland, that I worry that they won’t take it seriously. Of course, I also have a nephew on Galveston Island, and my daughter in law has a sister in Houston.
