Refugio, Texas, is fairly far inland, but I think it might get hit by a large Hurricane surge.

I believe it is extremely flat between Refugio and the Gulf of Mexico...

South of Corpus Christi, Padre Island will take some of the Hurricane Surge (be a partial barrier).

But the part of the Texas coast between Corpus Christi and Victoria seems to be very vulnerable...

As long as that historic ol' Mission survives (from the Battle for Texas Independence)...

Too close to call whether you will be on the dirty side of the storm with surge. Either way, the storm has a very large hurricane wind field. A miss can still mean dangerous winds.
