TV people can be rather stupid.
Thank goodness I am a newspaper reporter....
(not that there are not dumb ones among us as well, but I have seen a lot more glaring TV errors for things like this than newspaper).

One of our locals in Key West really nailed one of the Miami cub tv reporters a few days ago, there is one spot in Key West on duval street that floods on anything over a 20 knot wind at high tide.
The local told this tv guy who was standing in about 18" of water that he better get out because the barracuda would bite his leg! He didn't freak but you could tell he wanted to get out of the water right away and he didn't talk too much more.IT was funny.
