The DNC was using "Lipstick" as their talking point for days. Examples?

ROBERT SHRUM: The Republicans Lipstick Populism
..."Palin assailed Obama for not mentioning the word victory in his acceptance speech. But she didnt bother to mention health careand McCain hasnt troubled himself to offer a free-market approach to the issue. Will Americans take seriously a pledge to stand for the people, not the powerful that doesnt even acknowledge this central concern? Can the pit bull pay lip serviceor merely apply lipstick?"...

Carnahan: 'Theres no way you can dress up that record even with a lot of lipstick'
..."Introducing Joe Biden as "one of the foremost experts in foreign affairs in the country" in St. Louis just now, my colleague Victoria McGrane reports, Rep. Russ Carnahan also took a swipe at Palin.
For all his tough talk [McCain] buckled to the right wing of his party in his choice. Picked someone with zero experience in national government, zero experience in foreign affairs. Theres no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick," he said.
And then of course we had nObama yersterday. In fact, after he said his piggy comments, the crowd started chanting, "No more pitbull!".
Of cousre this was NOT calculated! Well, newsflash Barry! This lipstick toting mom of two is not buying it! As a matter of fact, after I apply my favorite shade of red, I am off to my local Repub. HQ to get my McCain/Palin yardsign!
“Spare me the phony outrage.” - Obama 9.10.08
Keep it handy, we can use it soon enough I’m sure.
Too cute by 2, Pbama made a HUGE tactically mistake by taking this lipstick attack plan advice.
Leave it to Dems to shoot themselves in the foot all the way to defeat.
I think “Pig-gate” will be reflected in the polls in coming days.
Pork-gate.
“Pbama made a HUGE tactically mistake by taking this lipstick attack plan advice”
The “lipstick on a pig” remarks toward Palin originally came from KOS, I believe. And the Kos moonbats LOVED IT.
The Haters are in charge of the Obama Campaign, and they are flailing wildly now...
I guess he stepped in it when he decided to ad-lib the lipstick reference.
He should have had someone write the joke for him and then hold up the cue cards so he could read it.
The lipstick on a pig comment was touted by a Democrat pundit one morning on Fox & Friends recently. He was soundly jumped on for it. His comment was made at least 3-4 days prior to Obama using the term. I would definitely say it was a Democrat talking point.
From the McCain campaign standpoint, this is I guess about subtly reminding people of Obama’s sexism weakness. But more then that I think they are highlighting this just so more people see Barrack as a standard politician, not Messiah-Like. And a politician that is floudering at that.
As an added bonus they may be nuking this lipstick theme the Dems had settled on, and have taken the Dems and their PR media representives off the attack they were coordinating at least for a awhile about Palin’s church.
Not that it would have worked, but there were more then a few comments about her “reverend Wright” problem appearing in the media.
Good ‘ol Barrack has forced them to double back and defend him over this nonsense.
We need to compile all this stuff and get it into the right hands. I can’t stand BOR, but he hates KOS and I think he might just get an eye opener on this onw.
It ain’t the lipstick they should be concerned about; its the teeth soon to be on their @sses.
One of the threads that I saw it posted on had 3 links.
The lipstick remark was directed to Palin and the old fish in newspaper remark was directed at McCain. Pure and simple.
All those comments were fair enough. A play on words that wasn’t vile.
Obama’s extra dig is what got him in trouble.
