If Sarah laughs this off and gets in a little joke at Obama’s expense (effectively putting this to bed), this whole event will be a strategic success. The real secret here is not to look like you are milking it while showing how tough Sarah is. Feminists will remember, believe me. They need no memory prod.
Something like, “our opponent apparently can’t tell the difference between a pig and a pitbull. I can show him pictures... (laugh). Seriously, John and I know that this is going to be a spirited campaign and I can promise you that I don’t bend and I don’t break! (applause)”
Don’t let this go to your head... :) But I think that’s pretty genius. I myself think people on here are being a little oversensitive on the comment so a comment like that would appeal to both sides of it. The issue is in the media so it needs to be addressed. She wouldn’t address it seriously enough so it would appeal to people who didn’t think she was called a pig and would probably make them laugh... but then it has enough zing on it to get the point off that if she was called a pig she isn’t going to just let it go.
I’d email that one into McCain.
